In addition to being a full-service local bike shop (LBS) we here at South Salem Cycleworks offer a variety of personal services to make your active sporting life more fun and enjoyable.
Bike Rentals
We rent road, hybrid, and tandem bikes, as well as child trailers.
Are you looking for a touring specific bike, or something more responsive with a triple chainring?
Prices are as follows and are current for the Summer 2006 season.
Road & hybrid rentals are $15 for a half day, $20 for a full 24 hours. Tandem rentals are $25 for a half day, $30 for a full 24 hours. Trailer rentals are $10 a day. Take a 20% off for a week or more of rental.
Your frame size that you are accustomed to riding would be appreciated.
The best would be for you to take some measurements:

Top of saddle to bottom of pedal stroke;

front of seatpost to back of handlebar; and,
-
from end of front wheel axle to center of stem in front of handlebar.
Bring your own shoes, pedals, and if you wish, your saddle for the best match.
If truly interested, please reserve ahead of time as the summer time of year puts a demand on our bikes with the many rides that take place every weekend.
Custom Handmade Wheel Building
Michael builds all of the custom wheels for the SSC bikes and frames by hand. Michael will work with you to determine the best overall combination of rims, hubs, and spokes for to match your riding style and your new Torelli, Mondonico or other custom frameset.
In addition, Michael, will build wheels for hard-core commuters, tandem riders, and tourers that will withstand the rigors of the road.
Custom Bicycle Fitting
Another service offered by South Salem Cycleworks is that of custom bike fitting and measurements. We can fit you to your existing bike or measure you for your new custom Torelli or Mondonico. This can be a time consuming process so be sure to make an appointment with Michael and he'll fully explain the process.
Cross-Country Ski Rentals
During the cold, winter months we rent cross-country skis. Please check for seasonal pricing and availability.
